How could this be?

Postby Tims500 » Wed Apr 24, 2013 12:09 am

My right side cylinder stops firing some times. Pull the plug cap and I can hear it sparking. Plug and plug cap has been changed. I can smell the fuel, and got a whopping back fire a couple of times.

Any clues, never had one of these beasts before.

Never mind. The plug must have been wet with oil. Because on a whim I dumped copious amounts of SeaFoam in the tank and presto, when it warmed up, it started to fire. Sticky needle valve?

Can you put your location after you model Tim.I forget things :?

There are two types of Spark plug caps used on these bikes and the US models usually have the more complicate,"Resistor" type ones. These are more prone to corrosion and break-down.

I prefer the none Resistor type and R rated Resistor NGK plugs as per links and,

I recently found a possible US source for our unusual plug caps. You can be my Guinea Pig<grin> and buy and try some,
